What Defines An Acceptable Use Agreement
In general, acceptable use means respect for the rights of other computer users, the integrity of physical facilities, and all relevant license and contractual agreements. If an individual is found to be in violation of the Acceptable Use Policy, the University will take disciplinary action, including the restriction and possible loss of network permissions. A serious breach can have more serious consequences, up to and including suspension or termination of the university. Individuals are also subject to federal, state, and local laws that govern many interactions on the Internet. These policies and laws may change as state and federal laws evolve and change. A UP serves as an agreement between the User and the company offering the Online Service. Some rules are basic netiquette, while others may have legal implications. If you do not comply with any of the policies of an UP, the Company has the right to suspend or terminate your account or to take legal action if necessary. Therefore, it is advisable to familiarize yourself with the AUPs of the Internet services you are using.
I understand that any breach of this Agreement may result in disciplinary action that may include, but is not limited to: written disciplinary action, revocation of User accounts, termination of employment, suspension or exclusion of GRCC and/or legal action by GRCC. Permanent revocations may result from recommendations from the GRCC`s Information Technology Division or other authorities that may be used to investigate computer and/or network abuse. Disciplinary actions, as documented in the GRCC policies and procedures and the GRCC Code of Conduct for Students, are determined solely by the GRCC based on the nature of the violation.
